Depression
and Anxiety

Depression is more than just feeling sad. It’s a combination of symptoms that last for at least two weeks, including sadness, low motivation, lack of energy, hopelessness, disrupted sleep and appetite, anxiety, and irritability. Depression can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming, even impossible. You might tell yourself you’re lazy, irresponsible, or not trying hard enough, and over time those beliefs can wear down your confidence and self-worth. You don’t have to accept that as your reality. Together, we’ll uncover the patterns keeping you stuck, so you can find your way to hope, motivation, and a fuller daily life.

*Depression can also show up physically, through things like stomach pain, headaches, and slowed movement.

Anxiety has an important job: to keep you safe and help you spring into action. A racing heart, sweating, trouble thinking clearly, and other intense symptoms are your body’s way of getting your attention so you respond to a perceived threat. But sometimes your nervous system is simply overprotective. It sounds the alarm when you’re not actually in danger, leaving you uncomfortable and struggling to function. If that’s what you’re living with, your anxiety may feel unmanageable, but there are skills and understanding we can offer to help you find your way through it and manage it. Together, we’ll figure out why your body is working so hard to protect you.

*Anxiety can be a symptom of depression, or it can occur on its own. A full assessment helps us understand which came first and where to start easing your symptoms.
